# Connect ChatGPT to AutoAdy

> Use an available custom MCP connection, authorize AutoAdy, and verify a read before enabling broader work.

Use this recipe when ChatGPT web exposes custom MCP connections or Developer mode for your account and your workspace permits them. It does not require an OpenAI API key, and it does not assume AutoAdy is listed in a plugin directory.

Sign in to AutoAdy with the intended identity, [connect Meta](/connections/meta), and check your account access first. A ChatGPT subscription and an AutoAdy subscription are separate.

## Choose the setup shown in your ChatGPT account

OpenAI documents different interfaces during rollout:

* **Plugins interface:** **Settings → Security and login → Developer mode**, then [ChatGPT Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins) and the plus button.
* **Workspace Apps interface:** an authorized owner/admin or developer uses **Workspace settings → Apps → Create** or the available **Settings → Apps** controls. Enterprise/Edu access can require an administrator’s role permission. Use the [plan-specific official guide](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/12584461-developer-mode-and-mcp-apps-in-chatgpt) if this is the interface shown.

If neither supported custom connection is available, stop here and ask the workspace administrator or choose a [developer client](/developers/clients). This guide does not promise that every ChatGPT plan or account has the same options.

## Add and authorize AutoAdy

1. In the available custom-connection form, enter **AutoAdy** as the name and a short description such as “Read connected ad-account data.”

2. Use the public server endpoint:

   ```text theme={null}
   https://www.autoady.io/api/mcp
   ```

3. Choose AutoAdy account sign-in/OAuth and complete the authorization with the intended identity. Use dynamic registration if a client-registration choice appears. A manual AutoAdy API key in a custom Authorization header is not this ChatGPT recipe.

4. Create the connection and review the discovered tools. In the Apps interface, follow **Scan Tools**, authorization, and **Create** when those controls appear.

5. Start a new conversation and select the AutoAdy connection from its tools menu.

## Verify an account read

Ask:

> Use AutoAdy’s list\_ad\_accounts tool to list my connected Meta accounts. Return the account names, IDs, and currencies from its actual result. Do not change ads, campaigns, budgets, or settings.

Inspect the tool call and result. The expected account IDs should match AutoAdy; if no accounts are returned, check the Meta connection and team access.

## Recover or remove access

For expired sign-in, reconnect the AutoAdy OAuth connection and repeat the read. For missing tools, review the connection’s discovered tool list and any workspace policy. A saved connection or ChatGPT’s prose answer alone is not a verified account result.

ChatGPT’s action confirmations depend on its interface, workspace policy, and the action. Review [AutoAdy permissions and approvals](/automation/permissions) before using write tools. To stop the authorization, revoke its **Connected apps** row in **Settings → AI & Agents → AutoAdy API keys**.

These steps use [OpenAI’s MCP connection guide](https://developers.openai.com/plugins/deploy/connect-chatgpt), the linked workspace guide, and AutoAdy’s OAuth discovery/recipe. Check the available connection options and complete the first read in your client.
