Settings → Auto Comment configures a first comment on new Meta ads. The saved template, Page, and enabled setting apply across the owner’s connected Meta accounts; this panel has no per-account enable switch. The selected account controls the manual posting test. This is a posting feature, even where the settings navigation describes moderation; it is not a review or deletion queue for customer comments.
- Open Settings → Auto Comment with the correct account selected.
- Choose the Facebook Page that should post, or leave Auto-detect from ad if that is the intended behavior.
- Enter the final Comment Template and inspect Preview. Paste the real destination URL into the text when a URL is needed.
- Review the template and Page for every connected account that automatic posting could affect. Choose whether Auto-comment on new ads should be enabled, then choose Save Settings.
- Reload and confirm the saved Page, template, and switch. The panel describes a periodic check every four hours; it does not offer an editable delay control.
The preview uses illustrative replacements. In particular, the displayed {{website_url}} placeholder is not a reliable real URL substitution during posting. A complete literal URL avoids publishing a comment with missing destination text.
Understand the test before using it
Test on Latest Ad posts a real public comment on an active ad in the selected account. It is not a simulation, and the button name does not guarantee the chronologically newest ad. Use it only when you intend that comment to be published.
Before testing, check the selected account, Page, and complete message. After the success message, inspect the actual ad post and confirm the comment’s text and identity. If the outcome is unclear, verify the post before starting another attempt; multiple new attempts can create confusing results.
Change or stop future posting
Edit the template or Page and choose Save Settings again. To stop future automatic comments, turn off Auto-comment on new ads and save. This does not erase comments already posted. Manage existing comments at Meta if removal is needed.
If posting fails, check the displayed error, account, Page permissions, and current Meta connection. A preview rendering successfully does not prove that Meta will accept the write. For help, include the ad ID and redacted error in a support request, without access tokens.
