Budgets can belong to a campaign or an ad set. Edit the entity that owns the budget, and keep daily and lifetime budgets distinct.

Before editing

You need management access to the selected account. Note the currency, current amount, budget type, and whether the budget belongs to the campaign or ad set. An ad itself does not own the budget controlling its delivery. A change to a campaign budget can affect multiple ad sets sharing it. A lifetime budget is a total over its schedule, so it should not be compared as if it were a daily allowance.

Edit and check

  1. Open Meta Ads and locate the campaign or ad set. If starting from an ad preview, follow the budget control for its budget owner.
  2. Open the budget editor and check the entity name, currency, and current amount.
  3. Enter the intended amount in the displayed currency. Review it against your spending plan and the other entities affected by that budget.
  4. Choose Save budget in the budget dialog. Wait for the result before closing or retrying.
  5. Refresh the table and confirm the current amount returned by Meta.

Understand the result

A confirmed change and a refreshed read are separate pieces of evidence. The table can show Budget change confirmed. Waiting for the current budget from Meta; refresh the table to check again. That is a request to verify the provider’s latest amount. If Meta reports a different budget later, review whether another person, rule, or tool changed it. Use the current provider value as your starting point for a new edit.

If the request is interrupted

An unknown outcome does not prove that the change failed. Use Check previous budget change in the budget dialog when shown, then inspect the current Meta amount. Avoid submitting several new edits to force a visible update. If the editor is unavailable, check your role, account management access, and the actual budget owner. If the error persists, keep the entity ID and intended amount for support. Autopilot’s Spend impact per day cap limits the budget it may move through its eligible automatic lane. It is not an account-wide ad-spend ceiling and does not cover every manual or agent action. See Autopilot.
